Bridging the Bar’s (BTB) 2024/25 Academy is set to begin in September, with the aim of increasing diversity at the Bar by preparing 100 aspiring barristers from non-traditional backgrounds for pupillage applications.
BTB was founded in 2020 to help provide equal access to opportunities at the Bar. The charity is now supported by 300 barristers, 70 chambers and 26 sponsorship partners. The Academy is a free programme which runs for 8 months and includes:

Vice chairperson, Aaron Mayers, explains that: “From day one, the Bridging the Bar team has asked itself: what is the best way to increase the chances of our candidates securing pupillage, whilst also preparing them for professional life at the Bar? The BTB Academy is the answer."
