We've got an expert team of bloggers reporting from the front line of legal study and work. You'll hear straight from the horses' mouths about how they juggle their studies, job applications, work and social life. You can save blogs to your MyLCN account by clicking the 'Bookmark' button on a specific blog's page.
I'm a second year law student studying at the University of Sunderland, with a keen passion for the North of England. I’ve completed work mostly relating to civil procedure and work in the magistrates court. I am currently working towards completing my third and final year, before working towards the completion of the Solicitors Qualifying Exams (SQE).
Hi I'm Phil, otherwise known as The Neurodivergent Lawyer. I am an aspiring lawyer qualifying via CILEX, and an autism and neurodiversity advocate. I'll be sharing my experiences of life as a paralegal and qualifying via an alternative route to the training contract, things that I think are worth knowing at the junior stage, as well as promoting greater acceptance, understanding, empowerment and inclusion of autistic and neurodivergent lawyers at all career stages. I hope that whoever you are you can take something away from my blogs here!
Hello, my name's John, and I'm currently studying Scots Law at the University of Aberdeen. Through this blog, I hope to share stories that interest me and some insights into my legal journey – including deliberating on whether to qualify in Scotland, or England. I have a particular interest in IP and Tech Law. I hope you find my blogs insightful - I look forward to sharing them with you!
Hi! I'm Celine, a UCL English undergraduate student on the cusp of completing her degree and embarking on her academic journey into law next year. In this blog, I'll be writing about anything and everything pertaining to my experiences as a legal novice, in the hopes of connecting with others who are in a similar spot. If you're interested in a simplistic starter's approach to the ins and outs of becoming a solicitor - all accompanied by a healthy dose of sarcasm, of course – then this is the space for you. Together, hopefully, we can do three important things: live, laugh, and (of course) law.
Hi, I'm Anisa and my career goal is to become a barrister. I'm currently studying law at the University of Southampton, I have a keen interest in international human rights, immigration law and criminal law. Follow this blog to read about my journey to the bar, tips for law school and my opinion on topical legal debates.
Hi I’m Emma, also known as ’Student Verdict’, a law student navigating the legal profession one step at a time. I'm currently in my third and final year of my Law LLB in Manchester and am going to (hopefully) go on to study the Solicitors Qualifying Exam! I'm a volunteer at a domestic abuse charity, a volunteer at Citizens Advice and now a legal blogger. I'm on my own journey into a legal career and am going to take you with me discussing all the ups, downs and lessons I've learnt from being a law student.
Now studying my LPC at the University of Law in Manchester, I've made the transition from studying English literature at undergraduate level to now being intrigued and excited by the legal world. Last year I completed my MA Law (Conversion) course, and completed a project on copyright laws following Brexit. I'm a future trainee solicitor at a firm in London, and I'm eager to use my knowledge of the law in practice.
Hi! My name is Kenza and I’m an aspiring barrister. I've just completed the LLB and started the BVS at City, University of London. I’ve joined LCN as a blogger to share my journey to the Bar, provide insight into studying the BVS and hopefully guide those looking to follow a similar path. I hope you find my blogs useful!
Hi everyone! My name is Savannah and I’m an aspiring solicitor. I’m currently a second-year university student at the University of Manchester. I’ve become a LCN blogger to share my legal journey and experiences so far, in hopes to be able to help those going down a similar career path. I hope you find my blogs of use, and if you do, please do check out my legal instagram too: (@themanchesterlawstudent).
Hello, I’m Demi, or alternatively known as 'The Abled Lawyer' on Instagram. I am currently studying the LPC/LLM part-time at BPP University, Birmingham. I work as a diversity assistant at Freeths LLP. I am also a committee member of the Lawyers with Disabilities Division of The Law Society of England and Wales in my spare time. By documenting my journey as a disabled student, this blog aims to raise awareness of disabilities in the legal profession and give practical advice to disabled aspiring solicitors, which I wish I had received at the beginning of my career. Finally, I have interests in employment law and technology law, so my blogs may also touch upon these subjects too. Enjoy!
