The Abled Lawyer

It’s been a busy start to 2023 for me, which is why I’ve been very quiet over on my socials… I’m thrilled to announce that earlier in January, I moved from Freeths LLP’s Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) team onto its legal assistant programme. I’ve joined the corporate team as a legal assistant in the Freeths’ Oxford office.
Working in the D&I team was incredibly rewarding and it was fantastic to be within the heart of the firm. It was intriguing to learn the different ways you can positively impact a business’s culture through D&I.
Initially, it was a nerve-wracking decision to move back into legal practice as I was happy in my role and enjoyed working with my team. However, after working across the 12 offices for nearly two years and meeting many lawyers at the firm, I couldn’t think of a better law firm to move forward with and kickstart my legal career.
It’s taken me a few weeks to settle into my role and I’ll hopefully get to grips with it soon. My team has been incredibly friendly and supportive so far and most importantly I feel like I can be myself.
As much as I can, I can’t wait to share my journey with you all and what I learn along the way.
