Cripps Pemberton Greenish partners with BPP University to offer SQE preparation courses

Full-service law firm Cripps Pemberton Greenish has appointed leading training provider BPP University to deliver Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) preparation courses to its future trainees.

Trainee lawyers joining the firm in 2024 will be part of the firm’s first cohort to complete the SQE. Cripps is “delighted to continue working with BPP” as the firm adjusts the “training contract programme to ensure” the success of its trainees under the new system. The university also provides training to the firm’s solicitor apprentices, who will now also be required to pass the SQE following their six-year apprenticeship.

On top of preparation for the SQE exams, BPP will also offer Cripps trainees its new Essentials for Practice course, which is designed to offer content that is relevant to the work carried out at a trainee’s chosen firm. Meanwhile, the Business in Law module, which forms part of the course, will help trainees to:

• develop the wider knowledge and skills necessary to be a successful lawyer; and
• understand the role of technology in the delivery of legal services.

BPP’s Liz Ritter, head of business development, echoes the firms “delight” at continuing their long-standing relationship. Ritter adds: “We have full confidence that our SQE approach will allow Cripps trainees to establish a successful legal career, providing all the attributes and knowledge required for a future in legal practice.”
