At Leicester De Montfort Law School, we offer an extensive range of legal courses specifically designed to help you start and enhance your career within the legal profession. We hold a strong reputation for teaching quality and many of our academics have made valuable research contributions in a number of subject areas.

Our purpose-built Hugh Aston building is home to our integrated law library, mock law courtroom and client interview room, with the latter two providing you with the opportunity to experience real-world scenarios. You will also have access to our dedicated postgraduate study spaces, computer labs and learning zones.
Since its formation in 1989, Leicester De Montfort Law School has provided for the training needs of those entering the legal profession.
We are an experienced provider of first class legal education and training, offering the LPC/LLM in Legal Practice (full time) (LPC/LLM) and a wide variety of distance learning LLM’s aimed to enhance your existing knowledge and give you an in-depth understanding of your chosen specialist area of law.

LPC/LLM
The Legal Practice Course/LLM in Legal Practice (LPC/LLM) consists of work-based and skills training for those who wish to become solicitors. It is open to law graduates, those who have successfully completed the Graduate Diploma in Law and to Graduate Members and Fellows of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives. (CILEx) who have studied CILEx Level 6 subjects to correspond with those specified by the SRA for the academic stage of training. It is available as a full-time one year course.
LLM
Those who would like to study for an LLM in Legal Practice will undertake an additional dissertation module and will be able to access support to undertake practice based, empirical or theoretical research with the support of the full range of the Leicester De Montfort Law School’s academic and practice teams.
Those who successfully complete the LPC and the dissertation module will be awarded an LLM in Legal Practice. Those only looking to complete a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (the LPC) are not required to complete a dissertation.
