Linklaters is running a commercial awareness event on 4 December as part of its LinkUpEatUp campaign, which is designed to enhance participants’ understanding of the work of a leading global law firm.
The firm has been visiting universities and giving away food to represent its different office locations (see the firm's Facebook page for photos). Students are then asked to submit a question to the firm's panel of lawyers, to be answered during the live-streamed webinar on Wednesday 4 December. They are also entered into a competition to win a trip to Dubai to visit the firm's office. However, even if you miss out on the free food on campus, you can still register online with your name and a question for the panel to enter the competition.
Last year, Francesca Scott, a student at Bristol University, won the competition and visited Linklaters' Hong Kong office. She says: "I gained an insight into working life in Hong Kong and the types of deals and clients with which Linklaters is involved. Everybody was very friendly and willing to answer my questions. The opportunities for travel were clear and the work itself often crosses multiple jurisdictions. It became evident that the firm truly is international."
