The University of Law (ULaw) will provide Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) training to Mischon de Reya LLP’s future trainees and solicitor apprentices as they enter a new exclusive partnership.
The firm’s trainees will study ULaw’s SQE Master’s in Legal Practice and the Postgraduate Diploma starting in September 2022.
The exclusive partnership tightens the existing relationship between the firm and the training provider, with ULaw having provided exclusive SQE training and support to the firm’s solicitor apprentices since 2020.
ULaw’s SQE1, SQE2 and SQE Plus programmes have been designed to ensure candidates pass the assessments, as well as build the excellent technical skills alongside the commercial and personal skills and behaviours required to prepare junior lawyers for the modern world of work.
Samantha Kakati, partner and training principal at Mishcon de Reya, said: “We were looking to work with a trainer who shared our values. We have always been driven by an entrepreneurial, tenacious and socially conscious spirit. We chose The University of Law as we felt they are best positioned to help us realise our ambitions in developing our people, nurturing talent and shaping the future of our firm. Together, we will unlock the potential of our future lawyers and champion equity, diversity, innovation and sustainability.”
Peter Crisp, deputy vice-chancellor at ULaw, said: “We are delighted to be working with the internationally renowned Mishcon de Reya, a firm that embraces diversity, respect for the individual and the expression of talent. Students are at the heart of all that we do and by joining forces with Mishcon de Reya, our support and training for both the firm’s future trainees and solicitor apprentices will help shape the next generation of the firm’s lawyers and ensure Mishcon de Reya’s clients continue to receive top-level legal advice and the highest quality of service”.
