Profession’s leading figures to examine the liberalisation of legal services at upcoming seminar

The Westminster Legal Policy forum is taking registrations for its upcoming seminar entitled 'Innovation in the legal services market - growth, skills and emerging business models', which is set take place on Tuesday 11 March 2014.

Delegates will discuss whether a legal services market that has been liberalised through the rise of alternative business structures is an effective way to encourage innovation and growth. The event is timely, as legal regulators and the government are currently considering a wide range of potential reforms, including those suggestions that came out of the Legal Education and Training Review (LETR) earlier this year.

The seminar's keynote speaker will be David Edmonds, chair of the Legal Services Board, while Lord Brennan QC, vice chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Legal and Constitutional Affairs and Jonathan Djanogly MP, former parliamentary under-secretary of state for justice will be act as chairs.

Other confirmed speakers include Felicity Banks, head of business law at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales; Richard Cohen, chairman of Epoq; Sonya Leydecker, partner and global head of dispute resolution at Herbert Smith Freehills; professor Avrom Sherr, a member of the research team that conducted the LETR; David Sprake, founder of Solicitor.info; and Pete Storey, director of 1Solicit.
