SQE costs fully covered by master’s loan with The College of Legal Practice

The College of Legal Practice has become the first fully virtual training provider to be awarded new degree awarding powers (NDAPs) by the Office for Students (OfS), making it a fully accredited postgraduate law school.

The college can now offer aspiring lawyers an LLM in Legal Practice, which includes preparation for the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE). The master’s programme enables students to access the government-backed master’s loans for up to £11,750, which will fully cover the costs of the college’s LLM at £6,900 and the SQE exam fees at £3,980.  

The opportunity for students to fund their studies was an important factor in the college’s decision to apply for NDAPs.

By securing NDAPs, The College of Legal Practice has demonstrated to the OfS that it has:

• strong academic governance;
• high academic standards and quality assurance processes;
• an appropriately trained and skilled academic team to deliver degree-level courses;
• a foundation to enable student development and achievement;
• robust monitoring and evaluation systems and process; and
• a real and meaningful commitment to access and participation.
