SQE revision app predicts users’ chances of success in SQE1 assessments

Nearly 90% of students that The University of Law’s Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) revision app classified as ‘likely’ or ‘very likely’ to pass SQE1 have passed the assessment. This is based on July 2022 and January 2023 SQE1 assessments and self-reported student data.

The ‘ULaw SQE’ app, launched by The University of Law, can generate smart performance insights and valuable revision guidance with regular use from individuals. For students who are studying one of the education provider’s applicable SQE courses, the app and the revision portal (the desktop-based version of the app), provide detailed progress tracking information so users can understand their strengths and weaknesses when it comes to the SQE and better prepare for the assessments.

Course tutors will also receive insights from the app’s data, enabling them to provide additional guidance on students’ learning.

The app is free and provides users with a range of content to support the SQE1 preparation they’re already doing:

• Students on full SQE courses, including the LLM Legal Practice (SQE1&2), will have access to a question bank of more than 3,000 single best answer questions. These students will automatically receive full access to the app.
• SQE1 Exam Preparation Course students will have access to 162 questions, which are completed under exam conditions, with feedback on results provided by a tutor. These students will receive login instructions once they’ve enrolled on the SQE1 Exam Preparation Course.
• Students who’ve purchased an SQE Study Manual (including those who aren’t enrolled as a student at The University of Law) will have access to 40 questions relating to the purchased manual’s subject area. The students can log in using the QR code provided in the inside cover of the manual they’ve purchased.
• For students who aren’t enrolled on a course at The University of Law or haven’t purchased a manual, there’s a limited version of the ULaw SQE app via app stores. To access 45 sample questions, students just have to provide their email address.
