We have a large legal team offering exciting development opportunities covering the breadth of law that the public sector has to offer. The experiences we offer trainees are second to none – we are an award winning, commercially driven team, acting with integrity, expertise and flair to achieve success. We have high profile external clients including police forces, metropolitan councils, as well as handling all internal work for the County Council.   

During our two-year training programme you will be supported with your development while you move around and work within our different areas of law. Each placement will last six months and will include experience within adult social care, education, child protection, contracts and procurement, information governance, employment, planning, and litigation.   

You will get involved in case work and all-round aspects of the cases, giving you a great grounding in all areas of the law and how it is practiced.   

There's nothing stopping you from going a long way here and personally contributing to the county's success. We will give you regular support, mentoring and supervision, and if you need it, we will fund your Professional Skills Course. By the end of your training programme, you will be able to progress with your strengths and ambition, and you will be able to make an application to the SRA to be admitted as a solicitor of England and Wales.  

The training contract at Warwickshire Legal Services is generally split into four seats, lasting six months each. Trainees will usually spend time within all of the four main departments:

Corporate,

Commercial and regulatory

Adults, education, and debt recovery

Children and families

Trainees will undertake their relevant PSC courses through an external provider whilst working.

Trainees will have regular one-to-one meetings and appraisals to support their development throughout the training contract.
